Pre-Owned Elkhart "The Martin" Vintage 50s Tenor Sax - Lacquered
This is a 1952 "The Martin" tenor saxophone with original lacquer and original case with metal end plug. It's a nice, straight, clean pro model Martin tenor. The original lacquer is more than 90% intact. This horn has been fully serviced, cleaned, and repadded in our professional woodwind repair shop. Matching serial number on neck. Its construction features heavy walls and soldered tone holes. It has a nice centered dark sound and lots of power in the tone. The tone remains nice and full, from soft to loud. We would recommend a somewhat bright mouthpiece, as this would really bring out the ring in this heavy brass sax. Another great saxophone from Elkhart, Indiana built in the 50's when craftsmanship was at its peak!
