At 43 1/2″ in height, it is taller than a lot of consoles of that era, which were only 40-42″ tall. This gives the piano longer strings and a larger soundboard area, thus a bigger fuller sound. Baldwin was an American made piano at the time and was one of the best sellers in the USA.
