1978 William Mitchell Me Fecit Harpsichord

William Mitchell is known in harpsichord circles as a British maker who has built historic-style instruments and hosted events for the British Harpsichord Society. He has made Franco-Flemish (Ruckers/Hemsch-type) instruments in the late 20th century.

Date of Manufacture: 1978 ("WILLIAM MITCHELL ME FECIT ANNO 1978").
Style: Flemish - modeled after 17th-century Ruckers instruments, which were the hallmark of Flemish harpsichord building.
Keyboard: Single manual with naturals in dark wood and sharps in lighter bone or ivory-like material, a traditional Flemish color inversion.

Disposition:
8′ + 8′ or 8′ + 4′ (two choirs of strings, possibly with a buff stop).
The stop levers might be on the left or above the keyboard.
